As a public-private partnership, the Colorado Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund encourages the cleanup of unused or underused contaminated properties by offering financing with reduced interest rates, flexible loan terms and flexibility in acceptable forms of collateral.

This board establishes and maintains standards for coroner education, training and certification in Colorado.


Community Advisory Board (CAB)

In 2018, Colorado’s MCH program identified that a formal infrastructure for community inclusion and engagement would strengthen MCH priority implementation. As a result, the Community Advisory Board was developed and launched in October 2019. Primarily funded by MCH, Colorado’s Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program has also contributed funding. The board’s membership is reflective of the communities that are most impacted by MCH priority work and is composed of dynamic individuals who have a wide range of expertise, including lived and professional experience. Processes for facilitation include simultaneous interpretation in both Spanish and American Sign Languages.

Emergency Medical Practice Advisory Council (EMPAC)

This council operates under the direction of the CDPHE executive director and advises the department about the appropriate scope of practice for EMS providers, including waivers to scope of practice and criteria for physicians to serve as EMS medical directors.


Emergency Preparedness and Response Public Health and Medical Advisory Committee

Expert stakeholder group providing guidance on the direction of public health and medical emergency preparedness, response and recovery efforts in Colorado


Environmental Justice Advisory Board

The Environmental Justice Advisory Board is a volunteer board. The Governor and Executive Director of CDPHE appoint its twelve members.

The Board serves Colorado by:

  • Coordinating with the Environmental Justice Ombudsperson.
  • Advising CDPHE on best practices for engaging disproportionately impacted communities.
  • Responding to environmental justice policy matters referred by the Governor’s Office or CDPHE.
  • Creating and overseeing an environmental justice grants program.

The Front Range Waste Diversion Enterprise Fund is governed by a 13-member Board of Directors appointed by the department’s Executive Director.

For consumers and providers of all licensed health care entities that discusses licensure issues raised by attendees


Health Care Associated Infections Advisory Committee

Provides oversight of legislatively mandated health-care-associated infections and reporting of those infections to help ensure accountability and protect health of patients in Colorado through education, validation of data, and review of reporting requirements and surveillance practices

Advises the Office of Health Equity, focusing on alignment, education and capacity building for state and local health programs and community-based organizations

Long Term Care (LTC) Advisory Committee


Medical Marijuana Scientific Advisory Council

Provides guidance, scientific oversight and an unbiased review of medical marijuana research proposals for the Medical Marijuana Research Grant Program.


Pollution Prevention Advisory Board

Provides overall policy guidance, coordination and advice to department and other stakeholders on pollution prevention activities


Radiation Advisory Committee

Duties include providing technical advice to us on specific issues and reviewing regulatory changes proposed by Colorado's Radiation Program


Rare Disease Advisory Council (RDAC)

Established by SB22-186, the RDAC is composed of qualified professionals and people living with rare diseases that serves to educate medical professionals, government agencies, legislators, and the public about rare diseases as a public health issue.


Regional Emergency Medical and Trauma Advisory Councils (RETAC)

Colorado has 11 regional councils authorized by statute to provide a coordinated approach to emergency medical and trauma care. Each council consists of five or more participating counties. The councils are responsible for creating a regional implementation plan for delivering emergency medical and trauma care.


Retail Marijuana Public Health Advisory Committee

Panel of experts that reviews marijuana-related scientific studies and data with the intent of making public health recommendations to inform and protect consumers of marijuana and the general public


Small Business Assistance Program Compliance Advisory Panel

Monitors effectiveness of the Colorado's Air Quality Small Business Assistance Program


State Emergency Medical and Trauma Advisory Council (SEMTAC)

A council of 25 governor-appointed members and seven non-voting (ex-officio) members representing the interests of emergency medical and trauma services providers.


Stroke Advisory Board

A board of 18 governor-appointed members designated to research and make recommendations to the department to improve stroke systems of care across Colorado.


Suicide Prevention Commission

Created in 2014 to serve as the interface between public and private sectors in establishing statewide suicide prevention priorities in Colorado that are data-driven and evidence-based. By focusing efforts on current resources and also expanding the network of partnerships across the state, the commission boosts the efforts of Colorado’s Office of Suicide Prevention and makes annual reports to the governor.


Tobacco Grant Program Review Committee

The Tobacco Review Committee oversees the strategic planning and funding recommendations for the State Tobacco Education, Prevention and Education Grant Program.


Youth partnership for health

The Youth Partnership for Health (YPH) is a youth advisory council for state, local and community stakeholders. Members of the council provide feedback and recommendations to CDPHE and it's partners programs and initiatives. The Youth Partnership for Health is coordinated by MCH staff and continues to receive financial support from numerous CDPHE programs, including state-funded tobacco and marijuana programs, to sustain this mechanism for soliciting youth input.
