"The pantry area is something that serves us really well... sometimes it has fresh vegetables. Everyone doesn’t have a place to live or a kitchen to cook, so the pantry really helps because it has a variety of food." - MP Associate Our Community Pantry is a crucial part of the wrap-around support that associates can access during their time in our Employment Readiness Program. Special shoutout to Evan from The Heart Tattoo Society for stopping by weekly with an amazing batch of donations to ensure our pantry stays stocked with not only delicious fresh foods but some household items as well! Thank you!! 🙌 #DTES #EmpoweringThroughOpportunity #EmploymentReadinessProgram #Community #FoodSecurity #Donate

Empowerment Through Opportunity
About us
Mission Possible is a community economic development agency in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, founded in 1992. Mission Possible addresses barriers to employment by providing supportive, transitional employment for those who are ready to enter, or re-enter, the workforce. For those overcoming homelessness, poverty, addiction, incarceration, and physical and/or mental disability, it can be difficult to build a sustainable livelihood. Through its Employment Readiness Program and two social enterprises, Mission Possible transforms lives by helping people experience a renewed sense of dignity and purpose through meaningful work. Mission Possible currently runs two social enterprises, MP Maintenance and MP Neighbours, that employ an average of 90 individuals per year in transitional jobs. Our work can be summed up in the phrase “Empowerment Through Opportunity”.

Sitting atop the Kingsway hill, 2400 Motel has been a proud part of Vancouver's Eastside community for over 75 years. Today, General Manager Kristian Miller, is continuing the tradition of creating positive spaces in the community. 2400 Motel's involvement with Mission Possible started when our MP Maintenance team was hired for exterior painting and landscaping at the Motel. Upon learning more about our Employment Readiness Program, Kristian was eager to explore the untapped talent MP associates had to offer. He shares, "Everywhere has to hire people. Everywhere has to spend money on products and goods and services, so if we can do that more compassionately, why wouldn't you?" Working closely with our Employment Engagement Team, 2400 Motel soon welcomed their first MP graduate, Noah! MP's Community Clean Up Day took place on June 22nd this year, and we had a fabulous time welcoming our supporters into our office and community! With the help of all the attendees, we were able to pick up over 50 bags of garbage throughout the Downtown Eastside! We also raised over $23,100 towards the Employment Readiness Program! We were blown away by the creative team names, incredible treasure hunting skills, and most of all our community's huge capacity to care. THANK YOU! We were also grateful to hear from Ursula and Grimm who shared their journey through the Employment Readiness Program with our attendees. We are so proud of everything they've accomplished since walking through our front doors. BIG thank you to our Partners for this event. Without them, this gathering would not have been possible! Thank you to Ravi Rane Photography (Ravi Rane, MBA) for helping us capture these joyful photos! #WorkingWorks #BetterTogether #DTES #MissionPossible #MPCleanUpDay
