The Government of Canada has issued a positive decision statement for the Tilbury Marine Jetty (TMJ) project. This significant project milestone will enable trans-oceanic vessels to fuel with liquefied natural gas (LNG) at the Port of Vancouver. The TMJ will help create economic and employment benefits for the people of Delta, neighbouring communities and Indigenous communities and partners throughout the lifetime of the jetty. https://lnkd.in/g5iakmeX

All gas customers will be designated a one per cent blend of Renewable Natural Gas, known as RNG blend. There is no action required by customers. For the average customer, there will currently be no change to the cost of your monthly bill. The one per cent RNG blend will be incorporated in the storage and transport line item on your bill. You will also see a biomethane credit for the RNG portion of your gas. If you were already subscribed to RNG before July 1, we will continue to offer the voluntary RNG program so you can choose to designate up to 100 per cent of your gas use as RNG, inclusive of the one per cent blend. This adds to our ongoing efforts to reduce overall greenhouse gas emissions and help meet provincial climate action goals. Click the link to learn more about RNG blend. https://bit.ly/3VN3V50

We’re excited to attend the Retrofit Canada Conference in Vancouver. FortisBC’s Danielle Wensink, director of conservation and energy management, participated in a panel discussion on creating the energy supply of the future. Danielle spoke about how investing in energy efficiency is critical to meeting provincial climate action goals and plays a key role in lowering energy demand on our systems. Reducing energy use can also help customers lower their monthly bills and support emissions reductions. As we move forward, both the gas and electricity systems need to work together to meet the rising demand for energy while working toward a lower-carbon energy future.
