In celebration of Pride Month, our Diversity and Inclusion Team hosted events throughout June to promote inclusion and education for all employees. We are committed to building environments where people can be their authentic selves year-round. “Celebrating pride also raises awareness and provides learnings to those outside and inside the community.” - Jacob C., Canada Goose Developer, Product Offshore Outerwear. We were thrilled to welcome Victor Zhang from The 519 to lead a workshop for our employees. The dialogue focused on uplifting, empowering, and supporting 2SLGBTQ+ individuals in the workplace, and how to cultivate an inclusive environment where Two-Spirit, queer, and trans people can thrive. “It's about celebrating our uniqueness while finding common ground.” – Ryan Sia - MBA, PMP, CSM, Canada Goose Director, Technology Operations & Cybersecurity. To conclude our Pride festivities at Canada Goose, we hosted a vibrant Drag Brunch at our Toronto Headquarters with Tay BoBo, Virgo Queen, and Canada's Drag Race’s Luna Du Bois. Drag is a part of 2SLGBTQIA+ culture and celebrates diverse voices and different forms of gender expression within this community. Happy Pride!

During the month of June, we celebrate National Indigenous History Month, recognizing and celebrating the unique heritage, diverse cultures, and significant contributions of Indigenous peoples. While many Indigenous groups share some commonalities, they each have their own distinct heritage, language, cultural practices, and spiritual beliefs. Our Diversity & Inclusion team is dedicated to empowering all employees through education, awareness, and cultural understanding. Part of that cultural understanding is learning about the cultural practices of Indigenous peoples and their significance. We were delighted to host Katie Longboat, originally from Six Nations of the Grand River, at our Toronto Headquarters to lead a beading workshop. Beading is a cultural art form deeply valued by Indigenous communities. This tradition, passed down through generations, serves as a means of preserving and conveying cultural knowledge, while also promoting wellness and fostering community. Today, we are proud to announce renowned designer, Haider Ackermann, as our first-ever Creative Director. With a vision grounded in purpose, his appointment signifies a new chapter in our story. “When it comes to the marriage of craftsmanship and beauty, there’s no one more fitting than Haider Ackermann. He intuitively understands Canada Goose as a brand apart from all others, and that authenticity, craftsmanship and performance are the cornerstones of our brand.” - Dani Reiss, CEO This partnership is marked by the launch of an exclusive style in support of Polar Bears International (PBI), which is at the forefront of efforts to study, understand and protect polar bears and their declining habitat. "What drew me to Canada Goose is not only how they have created a category, but also its authentic reputation and drive to stay committed to its purpose. My hope is that by coming together with the extraordinary climate champion Jane Fonda, we can help drive people to act – and to do it now." #LiveInTheOpen is a way of life. It is woven in everything we do, and everywhere we go. We asked Photographer Andrea Astarita and his crew what 'Live in the Open' means to them. They took us along on their adventure through South America to show us how they embody live in the open from dusk to dawn. "It means choosing sunrise over staying in. Hiking the tallest mountain. Being at the mercy of the elements. It means connecting with nature. Climbing higher, getting further, pushing harder. It means sharing it all with friends and creating new memories that we’ll never forget." - Andrea Astarita, Luke Jackson-Clark, Reinaldo Diaz, Federica Mueller, Nuno Magalhães

Chief Financial Officer at Canada Goose

Since my career started (and well before that), I have been privileged to be surrounded by tremendously talented women. These women have been family, friends, colleagues, mentors, bosses, reports, clients, board members, partners, panel members, counterparts, and in many more roles. They have inspired, coached, taught, shared, eaten with, listened, given feedback to, had tough conversations, cared for, laughed with, and been there during challenging and good times in both professional and personal circumstances. You often set the bar for the rest of us, and we are better for it. While it is important to stop and recognize all women on International Women’s Day, it is my sincere hope that those closest to me know and feel they have my support during the other 364 days of the year. I also know that sometimes I don’t meet my own standard here and that there are some words and behaviours that might be preventing these incredibly talented people from feeling comfortable or being themselves. My commitment is to listen, learn, and act to ensure that everyone can contribute to their fullest potential. And so, on #IWD2024, I celebrate all those women in my life and career. It starts with strength at home from my mom, my mother-in-law, my wife, Vanessa Bowden, my daughter, and everyone else in my family and circle of friends: you make me better every day. In my career, there have been many women - I'm sorry, there are too many to name - who helped me become a better professional and person. And these days, at Canada Goose, we are fortunate to have world class leaders on the #CGLeadershipTeam who inspire the entire team on a daily basis in Jessica (Jess) Johannson, Beth Clymer, Carrie Baker, Ana Mihaljevic, Marjan Anwar Khan, and Juliette Streichenberger, and those in the global Finance team in Katia Montesano, Jean Marie Rendon, CPA, Cheryl Cheng, Shauna Hibrant, Elaine Ho, Ana Raman, MBA, and Kristen Jones, CPA, CMA (and many, many more). We are all deeply grateful for what you bring every day. #InspireInclusion
