You know, I absolutely loved this design for general cars. It was simple, effective, and you could still adjust or change them for a large variety of designs (make it a convertible or a ute or whatever). I miss this design.
More double windscreens! And thank goodness those little doors are still around in some car builds today.
Those that get arrested get stuffed in the trunk.
This is one of the earliest sets I remember having as a kid.
It has doors open!!!!
Epic! That figure is something!
My father had this one!

They might have to be tied to the top actually.
This officer might have been a shoot first kind of guy just because he knew his patrol car didn’t have the space to transport anyone if he had to arrest them.
This is such a simple model that it's immensely customizable. And that's what Lego did. I have a few variations, but not this.
Doesn't get much more classic than this.
And the cop can't shoot first, he doesn't have a gun!
This is the officer you send to help the elderly person cross the street or help the lost child find their way home or direct traffic or help a stranded motorist, not the officer you send to catch the bank robbers and other bad guys.
This one looks very familiar... Ah, those memories :)
FOUR-WIDE KRU IN DA HOUSE!
you know if it weren't for his badge it would look like he was wearing a tuxedo not a police uniform
Yay, another old set. My nephew has this one now along with all my other 70’s and 80’s LEGO. Mixes em with the new City lines without a second thought, it’s brilliant.
1986, my second or third set ever.
As far as I remember it was my first car ever. I love the design with only few more than 30 parts. I still have it and I made hundreds of km playing with it.
@LuvsLEGO_Cool_J you made me feel old :)
^ You make me feel young! This came out in my dark ages :-)
Absolute gold. Love this car.
printed door - mmmmh.
I do lack a walkie talkie now.
Second rsotd in two days I’d forgotten I had! Absolutely iconic design.
Great set, timeless design that works even now.
An old classic set, very similar to the absolute classic 600. Simple yet fun.
Gonna be honest though AFOLS, not in a very good mood. Last week I finally decided to get LEGO Worlds. One of the most daunting things about it to me was getting all the collectibles, but since I'm between classes I thought I had a shot. Over about a week I managed to log 60 hours of gameplay, 150 gold bricks, all but around 30 objects collected, and only had four or five each on creatures, minifigs, an vehicles to go. Then the game crashed, and corrupted the file.
I've looked up tips online and have found lots of ways to restore my world saves, but none to restore my discovery saves, so all that grinding I wasted the last week doing so I wouldn't have to do it later has gone to waste. Luckily the saved worlds can help me get most of the stuff back pretty easy, if I remember where to look, but I don't know how things like quest givers and chest spawns would be effected. I was really looking forward to getting down to building once everything was collected and I'm back to square one.
Had it as a kid, loved it.
A Classic!

LEGO Worlds was an enormous disappointment and I regret buying it. I really didn't like the grindy gameplay, plus it's completely dependent on RNG what you will find. The building system as well was very bad, you were limited to the absolute basic bricks.
Back when we didn't get at least half a dozen new police vehicles every year. It was a better time.
Love this set! I had this as a child. I still have it, on a shelf at my office. It has remained built since 1984!
(heart)
I'm pretty sure I had this as a kid. I really liked how the roof of a few of the vehicles in this era were hinged.
I happened to purchase this little gem numerous years ago for a discounted price at my local Kay-Bee toy store - only $2.49. Vehicles like these were very utilitarian in design and easy to build and rebuild into whatever you dreamed. And those single-piece black car chassis were then and still are (in their newer form) one of the best single pieces LEGO has produced (at least in my opinion).
