So it crushes claws, even though it's got one of its own?

Claw Crusher: He crushes claws

EDIT: Man, the lag for this comment to appear was intense.

By in New Zealand,

That's a good price - 99 pieces for $8USD. A micro-fighter has the amount of pieces, but costs nearly twice the price!

Although adjusting for inflation, you are only saving 90c.

Looks like an Atlantis precursor almost. Amazing!

Exo-Force is definitely a Zillenial theme that deserves the love it gets! Well, except maybe those really cursed anime faces...

I thought maybe it was my internet, but it's only Brickset as I was on multiple different sites and this is the only slow one. It took 5 minutes for the site to load, and then another minute for my comment to appear.

Did the alphanumeric code on the front of the canopy do anything? Like, entering it on Lego.com?

A Microfighter isn't being sold in 2007, so has to take more than fifteen years of inflation into account.

I got a few of these because it was the cheapest of the first sets to include a pure silver Drone, instead of the horky color-blended versions. I think I did get the gold/black one, but mostly focused on the solid copper or silver variety.

@TheOtherMike:
Probably, at the time this was released. Later Exo-Force sets came with code tiles that each had unique codes, so you burned the code the first time you entered it. Early sets, as I recall, had common codes across the entire production run, meaning you could get the code off a friend’s copy (or simply look up the sticker sheet on Bricklink).

Not the best example for the theme but it will do. Exo-Force was great.

Second year of Exo-Force had some very weak designs overall but this was definitely one of the stronger ones, feels appreciably chunky and solid and both of its armaments have cool looks to them

There was something on the Exo-Force website that you could enter the code into. For the life of me I don’t remember what it unlocked though, possibly little promotional videos of the set

Maybe the weather has improved in England, and Huw was out enjoying it.

Although I did note an intense storm during Wimbledon, so maybe that's why it's working well again. ;)

Given that it’s a mech piloted by a robot, I’m guessing that claw ISN’T for attracting mates.

It’s the other way around. The first sets with the codes, from 2007, had unique codes printed onto 1x2 tiles. The 2008 sets all had the same code per set, and they were all stickers

By in Netherlands,

I like Exo-Force, but I never got most of the 2007 and 2008 line sets. 2006 E-F was just something I prioritized more. The aesthetic was quite different in the last two years, you see. This one seems nice regardless. Most of the Robot focussed ones did actually. Not as raw as the 2006 ones, but still great mechs by the looks of it.

Once upon a time,

I had this set, but it soon got destroyed for parts.

The end.

Depends which microfighter, they vary a lot in price on just the last 3 sets, regardless of size, 75363 The Mandalorian N-1 Starfighter Microfighter was €16 , but then 75344 Boba Fett's Starship Microfighter was back to €10 and now 75391 Captain Rex Y-wing Microfighter is €13, and we don't know if that's the new "standard" price.

By in United Kingdom,

The only Exo-Force set I bought for myself (my other at the time, 7708, was a birthday present), and honestly I think this was probably the last non-Bionicle, non-licensed* set that I bought before my Dark Age started in 2010.

*(and even the licensed sets I got after this were just one incomplete used SW battle pack, and three Toy Story sets, so it's very close to just being my last non-Bionicle set pre-dark-age in general.)

I think I was already starting to feel the pull of the dark age by that point, even though it would still be another year before I started to be distracted from Lego by other interests: because even though the set was cool I really have no strong memories attached to it beyond initially building it - unlike Uplink, which I have distinct memories of including in some of the Lego stories that I played out. I think the reason I chose this set at the time was was that, since I already had Uplink for the 'good guys', I was looking to sample the robot faction at a low price point as well; although the black-and-orange combination, as my favourite colour scheme, may have aided that decision too!

First a hook, now a claw. Maybe the random part would have been something to match…but we’ll never know.

More like we’re finally seeing Dr. Claw’s face.

There was actually a Dr. Claw action figure that concealed his face until you opened the packaging.

Huh…I think I preferred not knowing what he really looked like.

@SearchlightRG:
It is a teensy bit difficult to take him seriously as a villain after that.

By in United States,

@SearchlightRG: Hey, you're the one who googled it (at least, I assume that's what you did; correct me if I'm wrong); I just brought up its existence. @PurpleDave: Yeah, I prefer to invoke Death of the Author (Death of the Licensor?) and ignore that figure's existence when picturing the villain of one of my favorite shows as a kid.
