We’ve certainly come a long way with the new Gringotts Bank, the goblins in this set are downright (unintentionally?) terrifying!
I appreciate that the new set has a few references to the original. While I don't own any LEGO depictions of this location, I love the reverence for its humble beginnings, even if it's just in the form of stickers.
To its credit, the original set has proper gold coins.

Indeed. I’ve always used the head and hands of a goblin from this set to make a goblin in the Tolkien/D&D/generic fantasy sense. Picture from 2006 (though still in my display collection): https://brickshelf.com/gallery/AmperZand/Fantasy/lego-goblin-orc-lizardman.jpg

Yeah, but it's an open-air bank. Those coins would have wandered off years ago.
The old goblin heads look like they have gills. Despite the mold’s flaws, I much prefer having the pointy noses. It’s inconsistent how the new dobby has a molded head yet the new goblins don’t. On the subject of dobby, his head from 2010 is the best, the new one is ridiculously oversized like the new STroop helmets. I feel similarly that Hagrid peaked in 2010, the new Hagrid has tiny little feet and an extremely brightened color palette.
Early HP really showcased that trend of using arches and columns and treating them like walls.
These were some of the first moulded heads, after a couple of Star Wars ones, and they didn't have the capability at the time to print these due to the complex shape.
This was my first experience with individual train rails and early HP taught me that there were old versions of certain colours too! Up to this point I'd only seen the current one-piece rail designs and knew only the new grey and brown colours. Though this particular set leaves a lot to be desired, I credit it with introducing to me to the older ways of doing things, which I now prefer.
Gringotts? What’s Gringotts? Don’t you mean Gringot ts?

likely started by the architect (who had ankle-length hair and carried a bong everywhere). they would not shut up about "Fung Shui" this and "energy" that, and do not get me started on the 30-minute lecture on the souls of plants, among other things..."
Boooooo
Get off the stage
@Norikins:
The new goblins have a half-molded head, with the ears being formed into the hair. But the old ones were blind, and really didn’t resemble the onscreen depictions at all.
At least this one has the name written correctly
Random set of the day? surely not 'Random', but I like the timely comparison!

Nah, it has a secret hiding place for the precious chrome, not to mention two safes and the Potter Vault.
Cool little set.
Wow, other than the yellow Harry Potter minifigure there is no redeeming quality in this set. Set design is terrible, feels like a quick cash grab.
I miss chrome gold coins.
Right after we lost Michael Gambon :(
I love how you get 16 coins in this set (and coin bag printed tiles. Most sets give you 4, maybe 8. No, 16!
You could actually fill up Harry's vault royally with that.
And there are four hiding places for each quartet: two safes, a vault... and a hiding place in the rooftop.
Harry Potter sets used to be charmingly weird!
Also, these were amongst the first short legged minifigs alongside the Ewoks. In the summer of that year Yoda and Dobby followed.
When I was reading Lord of the Flies and we got to the pig head on the stake, the Goblin head from these sets is what I envisioned.

The Huwbot listens, learns, predicts and responds. It grows smarter by the day. It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until every set, part, and minifig has been on the frontpage at least once.

Sticker jokes are the best jokes
Honestly looks more like it’s the start of a Harry Potter themed roller coaster than a bank

Best description of Gringotts (all depictions: books, films, and playsets).
Actually, I don't remember a Gringotts themed roller coaster at Universal Studios themepark. How could they miss that one?
PSA: I visited my local Costco today, and a bunch of sets have been reduced to 40% off RRP (good hunting fellow fanatics):
75348 : Mandalorian Fang Fighter vs TIE Interceptor
75362 : Ahsoka Tano's T-6 Jedi Shuttle
76415 : The Battle of Hogwarts
60379 : Deep-Sea Explorer Submarine
71459 : Stable of Dream Creatures
There was also a Friends and Technic set reduced 40%, but I can't remember which ones.
Kinda looks like either:
a) The "Bank" got "robbed" (as in there is no bank/building/structure/walls) or,
b) Harry's living out his 'fantasy' to be "an Archeologist":D

Not sure when it was built, but there is one in Florida now

This is one of a couple Harry Potter sets I distinctly remember building as a child, but I could not find when I took the legos from my childhood home to my current place. My folks remember the sets too, and none of us have any idea where they went.

Yeah. Harris in 2002, Gambon this week. Jude Law better watch out 20-40 years from now. The Dumbledore Curse (where no actor who has previously portrayed Dumbledore on film lives to see their 90th birthday) is gonna get him.
The one that really got me was when I realized that the cast of Babylon 5 (premiered 1993) were dying faster than the cast of Star Trek:TOS (premiered 1966).
Ahh the days when we had to imagine 90% of the set/scene

Interesting. It has its own Wikipedia page and says it was opened in 2014. Not sure how we missed that? Too busy rushing from Olivanders to the Wizarding World I suppose.
The tiny cart holds more figs than most cars. My kids loved this HP set. The simple rails brought so much fun to the set. The coins were awesome and really felt special and valuable, they certainly needed the vault to keep them safe. Good memories.
To get the new Gringotts, I'll have to visit my vault first, for a major withdrawal. Maybe I will just modify my Gringotts set, which is the second version of the bank.

Those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end....

The days where upstanding books, boxes, other toys would be a part of your diorama

What, playing Dumbledore is like being hired to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts? Harris died of Hodgkin’s disease and Gambon contracted pneumonia in his 80s. Nothing supernatural going on there, if you ask me. Call me when Jude Law or Toby Regbo (teen Dumbledore) pass away.
Incidentally, Shlomo Bar-Shavit (who did the Israeli voice dub for Dumbledore in the films) was ninety when he passed.
Being born in the 80s, My brain (still) registers HP franchise as "new". I'm always caught off guard when seeing these old HP Lego sets, it feels as someone MOCed how a HP set would look like as a 80s/90s Lego set, and not a real produced one from back then.
(Yes, I'm aware it's technically from 2002)

There is definitely one in Orlando. My daughter and I went on it multiple times. It was quite fun going down the caverns.
