  • Ready for some friendly competition between our terminals at Zeebrugge and Antwerp? A few weeks ago, our Zeebrugge team showcased their skills by unloading massive 25-meter train frames. Not to be outdone, our Antwerp colleagues have taken it up a notch. Last week, they handled even larger 31.5-meter frames filled with well fluid equipment! Navigating these enormous loads through our bustling terminals requires exceptional expertise. Key to this success was the seamless coordination and communication within our team. Kudos to the Antwerp team for rising to the challenge and executing flawlessly! Here's to more opportunities to showcase our expertise and teamwork 💪

Meet Anamaria! 👋 At VPC, she stands out for her hard work and cheerful demeanor. Ambitious and eager to grow into a team leader role, Anamaria needs to give instructions, lead morning briefings, and answer team questions in Dutch. To support her, we're collaborating with a language coach from Skill BuilderS and the VDAB for 15 hours of on-site guidance. This initiative aims to boost Anamaria's professional development and team communication. We're excited to see Anamaria achieve her goals and thrive in her career at ICO Terminals. If successful, we plan to extend this program to future non-Dutch-speaking team leaders.

  • We’re happy to ‘show-off’ the newly designed ICO clothing. This new attire features more blue and is crafted almost entirely from recycled materials, reflecting our commitment to sustainability. The distribution began on July 1st with employees working on cars in our VPC centers and at the terminal. The rest of our employees will follow in the upcoming weeks, with the aim of having everyone equipped by October. As part of this initiative, employees can bring their old ICO clothing when receiving the new items. Our warehouse will collect the old clothes for recycling, supporting our goal to reduce waste and promote reuse. #icoterminals #internationalcaroperators #sustainability

Last week, the Daisy Leader (NYK Line) was docked in Zeebrugge. This brand-new NYK vessel is powered by LNG (liquefied natural gas), a greener alternative that helps reduce CO2 emissions. The ship received LNG bunkers here in Zeebrugge. The Daisy Leader arrived from the Far East and is headed to Bremerhaven. Our NYK agent, Bert Adriansens, along with POAB representatives Mr. Pepijn De Vreese and Mr. Jan Bosmans, attended a brief P&K ceremony on board to welcome the ship. This marks a significant first step towards more sustainable operations and a reduction in our carbon footprint.

  • We’re proud to share that our team loaded no less than 16 beer tanks onto a new coaster ship, an impressive logistical operation from start to finish. These custom-made tanks were produced in Belgium and brought onboard the new and modern coaster, Wilson ASA Flex V. The tanks were carefully loaded and hoisted into place. Onboard, our skilled welders deftly secured each tank, a crucial step for the safety and stability of the ship. This project required perfect coordination and collaboration. It was amazing to see everyone play their part, from the planners and coordinators on the ground to the technicians onboard. Together, we successfully completed this project, once again demonstrating the strength of our team. We're ready for the next shipment of 10 beertanks later this month!

  • Great way to start the day! ☀️🌈

There 2 sides of every story. Personally I love rain when I want to sleep but on the road it is not always pleasant. But arriving to this scene where International Car Operators is illuminated by nature shows the beauty and compliment of contrast. • Yesterday, four gigantic steel train frames, each measuring a remarkable 25 meters in length, were unloaded in Zeebrugge. These massive train frames required extremely careful and precise handling due to their large dimensions. With the utmost precision, the crates were moved from the ship to the dock. An impressive and successful operation—a fine piece of work indeed!
