Spencer Cox (Republican Party) is the Governor of Utah. He assumed office on January 4, 2021. His current term ends on January 6, 2025.
Cox (Republican Party) is running for re-election for Governor of Utah. He is on the ballot in the general election on November 5, 2024.[source] He advanced from the Republican primary on June 25, 2024.
Cox previously served as the lieutenant governor of Utah from 2013 to 2021 with Gov. Gary Herbert (R), who appointed him to the position. Cox was also a member of the Utah House of Representatives, representing District 58 in 2013.[1]
Biography
Cox was born on July 11, 1975, in Fairview, Utah. He graduated from Snow College in 1996 with an A.A. in general studies. He then received a B.A. in political science and government from Utah State University in 1998 and a J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law in 2001. Before entering public service, he worked as the vice president and general counsel of CentraCom Interactive from 2003 to 2013.[2]

Cox won the 2012 election for Utah House of Representatives District 58. He defeated David Parrish in the Republican convention and ran unopposed in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[5]
