Public school teacher salaries in the United States

The table below details teacher salaries from 1999-2000 through 2012-2013. Teacher salaries in Wyoming saw the highest increase over that time period, with a 24.2 percent increase in salary. Teacher salaries in North Carolina decreased 14.7 percent during that time period. For the school year 2012-2013, South Dakota had the lowest average teacher salary and the New York state had the highest average salary.
