Biography
John Pullias was born in Nashville, Tennessee. He earned a high school diploma from Oakland High School and a bachelor's degree from Middle Tennessee State University in 1987. His career experience includes working in manufacturing as a small business owner. He has been affiliated with the Great Smoky Mountains Association, Friends of the Smokies, Tennessee Wildlife Federation, and National Rifle Association.[1]

|John is a native Tennessean. He is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a double minor in Economics and Finance.
John is married to the former Carolyn Beasley of Franklin, Tennessee, who has now been Carolyn Pullias for 37 years. John has worked most of his career in manufacturing, starting as an hourly operator. By 2003, John was in Global Operations for a division of General Motors, responsible for over 15 manufacturing sites around the world.
In 2005, John & Carolyn purchased the Chilhowee Inn in Walland, Tennessee. The inn first opened in 1903, serving visitors to the Great Smoky Mountains before it was a national park. John & Carolyn continued this tradition, making the inn their home and business, operating the Chilhowee Inn as a B&B through 2017. During this time, John also launched a very successful consulting business. He helped struggling manufacturing companies get back to profitability. John coached managers and executives on how to be better leaders, and what was needed to fix their business. He looks upon this as his most rewarding work, savings hundreds of manufacturing jobs across the USA.
In 2017, John & Carolyn started Gray Mountain Properties, in which they own and operate long-term rental properties in Blount & Monroe Counties.
John & Carolyn reside in Monroe County and are members of the Maryville Church of Christ.
- John is the best qualified candidate, having real-world experience and business acumen that is needed in the Tennessee General Assembly. John knows what is required to run a small business & how to lead a large organization. John understands the needs of hard-working men and women of Tennessee.
- Conservative principles. Government is not always the solution to our problems but is most times the problem. We need to get government regulation out of the way so the talent & ingenuity of the Tennessee people can be harnessed to address today’s challenges.

Our greatest challenge is managing growth. Tennesse has been discovered as a great place to live and work. We must not let the growth destroy our way of life.
