Campaign website
Helgelien’s campaign website stated the following:
“ |
ECONOMY / INFLATION “The free market is the only economic system that has ever been shown to lift people out of poverty and create wealth on a large scale.”- Ronald Reagan We need to empower Americans to reinvigorate our economy with free enterprise. That means tearing away red tape, lowering taxes, and making America the easiest country to do business in.
DRUGS / CRIME “We must reject the idea that every time a law’s broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.” – Ronald Reagan No more games: we need to fund our police, punish criminals, and hold soft-on-crime judges and District Attorneys accountable. Elizabeth stands on the side of law and order against woke liberals who are comfortable watching our streets go to chaos as long as it makes them feel “diverse” and “inclusive.”
SECURE THE BORDER / ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION “A nation without borders is not a nation.” – Ronald Reagan Illegal immigration is both a crime and national security issue. Fentanyl is being flooded into our country by the Chinese Communist Party. Women and young children are being trafficked and subjected to abuse because of Joe Biden and Susie Lee’s refusal to enforce our immigration laws. Before any meaningful immigration reform can take place, we need to finish building the wall on our border.
PUTTING AMERICA FIRST / NATIONAL SECURITY “We maintain the peace through our strength; weakness only invites aggression.” – Ronald Reagan Joe Biden and Susie Lee have made America less safe. The Weak Biden-Lee security doctrine has led to the fall of Afghanistan, an avoidable war in Ukraine, Chinese spycraft over our homeland and chaos on the US-Mexico border. It’s time for a Congress that carries the will of the real America, not ivory tower college professors and woke mega-corporations. [4] |

2010
Halseth's campaign focused on policies in the areas of:
- Education: Halseth's website mentions a strong commitment to education and proposes three reforms, including making sure that education dollars go into the classroom, school choice, and implementing effective performance measurements.
- Taxes and spending: "Raising taxes is NOT an option!! Nevada can no longer afford to be governed by politicians who binge on tax dollars. Lean times create a necessity to examine programs to determine their effectiveness and value."
- Economic growth. Halseth says she will "fight against job killing regulations and tax increases and "support tax reductions to help spur development and job creation."
- Public safety: "As a mother raising a family their safety is my primary concern. So should the safety of all Nevada families be the State of Nevada’s primary concern. I will protect Nevada’s families as fiercely as I protect my own."
- Healthcare: "The ability of one to choose their own doctors and make their own medical decisions is crucial to preserving personal liberty. I will oppose any attempts at government run healthcare at the state and/or federal level."
