Fully integrated packaging and resource recovery solutions

About us

We are powering the circular economy, closing the loop between packaging, remanufacturing, recycling and logistics. Over 75 years, we've grown to 7,000 employees and 150 global operations - predominately in Australia and New Zealand - but remain an Australian, family owned company. Since the beginning we’ve transformed recycling into new products. Today, we're remanufacturing recycling into new packaging which is recyclable and made from up to 100% recycled content. Beyond packaging, we're making our customers' iconic brands a success through integrated solutions for packaging supplies, point of sale displays, logistics and recycling.

We partner with our customers to create unique, elegant, bespoke glass packaging to suit their product. They’re made locally in Australia and New Zealand, using glass recycled from households’ kerbside recycling bins and container deposit schemes. Even better, they’re easily recycled in your kerbside recycling bin when you’re done.

At our recycling facility in Banyule, we’re processing around 31,000 household recycling bins every day. These materials go on to re-manufactured into new packaging products - old cardboard into new boxes, glass into new bottles and jars, aluminium into new cans - at Visy remanufacturing sites right here in Victoria.

New Zealand has one of the best glass recycling collection methods in the world—with kerbside glass only recycling bins and crates. That’s how Visy has reached world leading recycled content levels, nearing an average of 70% across all New Zealand made glass bottles and jars. With our new partnership with Whanganui District Council, we’re extending this collection further, and diverting more glass from landfill in the process. We were proud to support the St Vincent De Paul #CEOSleepoutAU last week to raise funds to support people experiencing and at risk of homelessness. We donated over 2,500 sheets of cardboard, made with recycled content, for people who spent the night in the cold. After the sleepout we recycle the cardboard, ready to be remade into new recycled cardboard packaging. Thanks to Holly Reynolds for two of the images

We’re making it easier to ditch single use plastics with our range of easily recycled paper-based products. And we’re not done yet, stay tuned for more new paper products later this year. Soft plastics can’t be recycled through your kerbside recycling bin – but these paper products can be! Make a change and reduce landfill. Use less virgin material and power the circular economy. This #PlasticFreeJuly swap single use plastics for a recyclable alternative.

Annually, we produce over 3 billion glass bottles and containers made with an average of 63% recycled glass content and we’re continually investing in technology to reach our goal of 70%. A true circular economy model, right here in Australia.
