What a spectacular launch night for the Melbourne Chinatown Comedy Club! Last Wednesday, we officially kicked off our mission to become the hub for Asian comedians in Melbourne, and the energy was electric! With a venue that speaks for itself, the Museum of Chinese Australian History was the perfect setting for our launch, given its rich history and importance not just in Chinatown. Thank you to Mark Wong and his team for all your support! Thank you Cr Philip L. for his welcoming words, and to our own Christina Zhao and Ngoc Le from the committee, whose vision and dedication were instrumental in making this evening a reality. Huge appreciation also goes to Emily, Jayson, and Mickey, and our incredible team of volunteers from Melbourne Polytechnic who brought everything together. Thank you to our sponsors Shanghai Village and EziStreat for the food and beverages. We were honoured to host City of Melbourne officials, community leaders, and supporters and traders from the Chinatown community. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, reinforcing our belief that we all need more laughter in our lives. A special thank you to the Soul of Chinatown team, whose work with the Sydney Chinatown Comedy Club inspired us immensely. Having attended their events back in February, we were thrilled to receive their support for our launch. We look forward to future collaborations and building a strong comedy community together. 🌟 Don’t miss out on continuing this laughter—join us for our public launch this Wednesday! Tickets are available now (and selling out!) ; secure your spot at https://lu.ma/wfzuj7j5 and be part of this exciting journey with us.
