Engineering a bright future

About us

Balpara delivers electrical and structural engineering services to customers across Australia. Since 1976, we have serviced the energy, mining, communications and land development industries. Australian owned and operated, we build strong relationships with our clients to deliver cost effective solutions that ensure the best outcome for each project. We continually expand our capabilities by looking after our own recruitment, both nationally and overseas, which has helped our office grow and manage market fluctuations. Our technical experts are aware that there are technical and environmental constraints that sometimes make it impractical to employ the least cost option. At Balpara we strive to provide our clients with the ‘least cost, technically acceptable’ solution. This is why we provide our clients with options in the scope of work documentation. Balpara's Quality Management System is ISO9001 certified and all designs are performed in line with ISO, relevant Australian, industry & client standards. We are accredited to perform projects with all major Victorian utilities. Balpara holds a Victorian Labour Hire Licence: VIC LHL01180. Major clients: Citipower Powercor | Zinfra/ Jemena | SpAusnet | John Holland | Tenix | NHP | Western Power | Tricomms | Electrix | Pacific Hydro | Siemens | Cogent | UCS

It is exciting to be part of major project work in the North East of Victoria. Check out some details below and our teams increasing involvement in NELP! Victoria's Big Build - The North East Link project.

Engineering Down Under 🔩- Do you know Melbourne’s biggest ever investment in the north east… it’s changing the way people move. It plans to save travel time by 35mins, utilise new smart technology, include a 6.5 km long tunnel, and take 15,000 trucks off local roads. It’s Victoria’s largest road tunnels – The North East Link. As part of the Big Build, this project is getting a lot of publicity and community interest. Balpara is excited to play a role in this, having recently completed another stage of works and lighting designs as this huge investment hits the road! Have a look at some projects we have completed on this exciting development. https://lnkd.in/g8Mfkc8v #Engineeringdownunder

Engineering Down Under 🔩- Walking into the office early this week, I was struck by the growth in the number of vehicles our business operated, and proportionately the volume of design, auditing and surveying work our teams were engaged in. I recall the days at Balpara when we had a small fleet and site activities were a novelty… It made me do a quick stocktake of some interesting facts I had on hand: ·        Our UTEs have helped us deliver with dedication over 26,735 projects across Australia ·        They have serviced with a smile over 295 valued customers ·        They have traversed the topography of over 942 surveyed powerline poles ·        They have tracked the trenches of over 864km of designed and detailed electrical cables and conduits. Check out what our teams at Balpara have been up to while accruing Km’s in UTE’s across our nation! https://lnkd.in/gWPQBZrn #Engineeringdownunder

Engineering Down Under 🔩- I recently read that the demand for engineering skills still exceeds the supply, and despite an increase in engineers over the past 5 years, 70% of the growth in engineering has been from overseas-born engineers. We are all aware of the looming engineering shortages predicted, and can agree that migration will continue to play a critical role in engineering skills shortages. Balpara is launching another internal recruitment campaign to help address the engineering skills shortfall. We are on the lookout for Electrical Engineers and Project Managers, to sponsor under the 482 VISA (Temporary Skill Shortage) There is no age limit for a TSS visa; however, there is for Permanent Residency. If you know anyone interested in seeking 482 VISA sponsorship, reach out…. across the globe! https://lnkd.in/gRXa278s #Engineeringdownunder

Engineering Down Under 🔩 – Reviewing our quarterly Balpara newsletters, I noticed some helpful trends in ORs and CTRs (Open Rates, and Click Through Rates). It got me thinking as to why some newsletters had such spikes of interest over others…. There is a lot of research around social content optimisation, and a hierarchy to follow that tends to trend better: 1.    High Quality Visuals 2.    Authenticity 3.    Storytelling 4.    Educational… I know there are more, but these were considered optimisation factors that tend to trend! I wonder if others have found alternative factors with a strong correlation to ORs and CTRs? It was no surprise then that our Balpara newsletter featuring a video flythrough showcasing the marvel of Melbourne CBD’s underground labyrinth of intricate electrical infrastructure powering the city received so much interest. This exciting project uses LiDAR to capture a rarely-seen environment through a series of incredible 3D laser scans. To date, this has been the most opened and clicked-through newsletter in our history. If you want to see the article published, the link has been provided below. #Engineeringdownunder
