🚅 The plot thickens ✅ 🏗️ The Ministry of Transport will complete the North-South high speed railway project's pre-feasibility study report and strive to start construction of two priority sections before 2030. 🗃️ The project's pre-feasibility study report will be submitted to the National Assembly (NA) for approval, said the MoT’s leaders. ↕️ The North-South high speed railway has a double track scale, a gauge of 1,435 mm and length of about 1,545 km, according to the National Master Plan for 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, and the Railway Network Plan. 📜 The Politburo in February issued a conclusion on Vietnam’s railway development orientation, which required concerned agencies to research, analyze and evaluate international experience to choose a modern construction investment plan. 🛞 Implementing the Politburo’s conclusion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh founded a steering committee to carry out the North-South high speed railway project. 💡 The MoT, after collecting opinions from ministries and organizations, completed a plan for the project. 🚀 At a meeting on the project at the beginning of this month, Deputy PM Tran Hong Ha said that the project had great importance, contributing to the nation’s socio-economic development, industrialization and modernization. Therefore, he said, the project needed interdisciplinary consensus, contribution and participation. 📄 The Deputy PM directed the MoT to base on socio-economic development requirements and international experience to research, select and propose a suitable plan. https://lnkd.in/gKrEcxtD

What do you think will be the biggest investment theme for the next 5 to 10 years? According to our Partner Richard Bernstein Advisors, rebuilding US production will be key. This translates into more investment in: 1. Energy infrastructure 2. Utility infrastructure 3. Transportation 4. Manufacturing-related Real Estate 5. Steel & Ship building RBA believes that the potential returns from these investments over the next decade are currently underappreciated by investors – who are too focused on “sexy, technology-laden themes”. The graph below is just one example that shows where the US has underinvested in transportation and may need to boost its investment in the future. The Financial Times recently pointed out that infrastructure, once unloved by investors, has suddenly become popular. Assets under management worldwide have reached around $1 trillion, more than 6 times their level in 2008 (data from Prequin). Learn more about why RBA is convinced of this theme here: https://lnkd.in/eJgRpZif Note: Data in chart is from 2021 or the most recent year available. Inland infrastructure includes roads, rail, inland waterways, maritime ports, and airports. All Sources of financing are accounted for.

Thursday, July 25th. What's on your mind? My eye caught this tidbit the other day... Jul 3, 2024 — Through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program, the federal government is investing more than $33 billion in public infrastructure... More than half (58.8%) of Canada's assets by replacement value are in good and very good condition. Approximately 12% of assets are in poor condition, accounting for $260 billion to replace. So, $33B is a mere drop in the bucket, but it's a good start. Energy, Environmental, Highways-Roads-Bridges, Industrial, Oil & Gas, Marine, Mining, Railways... it all must be looked after, there is no doubt in my mind. For the professionals in this segment, which Construction/Infrastructure Trade Shows & Conferences will be the most frequented? Which will you and your company exhibit within? Which shall you attend? Buildex Alberta. Oct 23-24 P3 Toronto. Nov 4-5 Shutdowns Turnarounds Superconference Calgary. Dec 3-4 First Nations Housing & Infrastructures East Toronto. Dec 4-5 First Nations Housing & Infrastructures West Vancouver. Dec 4-5 Buildex Vancouver. Feb 26-27 Urban Transit Infrastructure Symposium East Toronto. May 28-29/25 Urban Transit Infrastructure Symposium West Vancouver. June 17-18/25 So many events to review, and this is just a Canadian focus. Which event is typically the best one for your business? I look forward to your reply. Regards George R. Hauffe, CSP
