Good location, great people but tiny room.

The greeting was friendly, the check-in efficient, the room clean and well equipped but……my goodness was it tiny. And very expensive. London is rapidly becoming a no-go area. Everything from theatre tickets to cafés to Tube tickets is very, very expensive. The hotel staff are great and it is very conveniently located opposite a Tube station and with a bus stop right outside but for us the price for such a tiny room was way too high. Sorry but we will not return.

Cigarette smell near door to bedroom

The whole Kensington hotel area is overpriced (for the convenient location), for the cramped room we get from ibis. Worse, our room on the third floor smelled like cigarette near door to our room in certain mornings (4AM) and night. We complained, but the smell persisted. There are no benefits for joining ibis membership/ loyalty program.

Stayed here for three nights over Christmas 2023. Located right next to Gloucester Road Tube Station, it provides easy access into the heart of London. The hotel itself is nice enough. We stayed in one of the hotel's largest rooms which is underground themed. The bathroom is small however is fine for what you need during a short stay.

Cromwell not Gloucester.

The location was good for the Royal Albert Hall. Clean room and a good breakfast. The 2 downsides are the steep steps at the entrance and its name - Gloucester Road when it is in Cromwell Road ( this confused us and the taxi driver) The address is in small print.

I usually stay at the Indigo, which is great, but had to stay here for the final night of my 3 nights because of the cost elsewhere. I didn’t have high hopes but I was pleasantly surprised. I ended up in the basement which was amusing because there’s a full set of curtains and blinds with a solid brick wall behind it, it did actually fool me before I looked out of the window. There’s a weird setup where it’s like there’s an airlock between the bedroom and the bathroom, again I actually quite like it but it feels odd since it’s a fire door that slams shut behind you. The bathroom is very modern and nice but no rainforest shower. The bedroom is also very nice with a comfortable and clean bed and nice furniture. There’s no clear reception but it’s a nice space where you get help as soon as you arrive and the staff are great. In general a nice hotel and given the popularity when I booked and prices elsewhere really good value.
