i have visited this hotel for summer vacation (july 2024). the location of the hotel is very good since it is near Paddington railway station which gives an access to almost all the places in and outside London. the check in was smooth and the front office staff was friendly and professional. i booked two rooms, both of them was very tinny. we had issues with the safe box which was not working, the window of the room didnt open, there was a problem with the handle. i complained three times and the hotel couldnt fix it so i spent 9 days without having fresh air in the room. house keeping are horrible. the cleaning level is far below standard. they dont empty the trash bins and sometimes they keep the cups and glasses which cleaning them. maintenance team in the hotel is useless. the hotel is under renovation for the facade and they didnt even put a note on their site about that and there was a drilling sounds from 9 am in the morning. to be honest, and although i am an Accor gold member, this was by far the worst hotel experiance

Indeed the mechanism that allows open/close your window was jammed and an outside contractor and parts had to be organised, nevertheless, my reception team has offered to organise another room for you and I understand this offer was declined. With regards to the noise experienced as a result of works being carried out in our facade, it is important to clarify that we do mention in our website that our facade is currently being renovated and furthermore in the reservation confirmation sent at the time of the booking states in detail as I quote here below; Hotel in renovation - Structural works on the exterior façade will take place from January 2024 until November 2024. Works are carried out from Monday to Saturday between 09:00 until 17:00. Limited outside view and excessive noise are expected during these working hours.

Arrived at the hotel to be told that the pool/sauna/steam room were out of order. This really upset as we were really looking forward to a nice dip in the pool and relaxing. It was booked on a non refundable rate but I think the hotel should have informed me prior to arriving so I could have booked another hotel nearby with a pool. The coffee machine worked well in the bedroom. Bathroom too cramped, mattress was very lumpy and neither of us had a good sleep. Tv didn’t seem to be even HD.

The swimming pool was temporarily closed last week for circumstances we could not anticipate and during this period complimentary access to the swimming pool at Nuffield Paddington was offered. We are sorry to learn about your disappointment with regards to the design of the bathroom and comfortness of your bed and yes, answering your question, our tvs are HD. I highly recommend not to stay until renovations are complete - the management seem to think it’s fine for customers to pay for a room with noise levels that workmen require safety hearing protection drilling at our actual room and at our window . We booked over the phone there was no mention of noise But when we checking we were told there was drilling due to renovations- we thought a little white noise would be ok - but when we called to ask to change rooms we were told we had ok”d it! The rooms being worked on should never been sold the noise levels were unbearable Reading through previous trip adviser reviews we began to laugh as so many of them were true for us Areception sign when you walk in the hotel - it looks like an open work space . Just the word reception on the desk would help No labels on the food at the buffet for breakfast - people need to know what they are eating - eg pork sausages? ( the buffet was excellent) Shower seals didn’t work so flooded the bathroom each time we showered No room service - we ending up asking for a new teabag and towel each day - they would have lasted more than a day if we hadn’t needed to mop up the floor ever time we had a shower No power points by the beds - one reviewer was told 6 years ago it was going to be done? No toilet paper in the main female toilet at 9am in the morning This hotel I believe needs some good old fashion management training on customer service , maybe their management could visit any other Novotel hotel to see what others are doing . The hotel is situated in a great position near great restaurants and Paddington station - Please don’t reply to this review with your usual AI generated PC reply - they really mean nothing when there is no actual empathy or action going to take place to change things All the best with the renovations, it must be a tough environment for your staff Hopefully this time

Disappointing

We were excited to come here to introduce our young family to London. Paid the extra for a little bit of luxury but honestly should not have bothered. The big ticket item for us was the pool. With young kids would have been perfect after a day sight seeing. Pool was inaccessible for our entire stay. We were told day after day it would be ready by five pm. It was such fun breaking this news to our kids day at the end of each day. The offered £7 per day compensation certainly did not compensate for our disappointment at the experience we have had here. Rooms are okay, but televisions are old and remotes don’t work properly. Breakfast was average and one morning inedible as the heating elements had been turned off long enough for the food to become room temperature. Not worth the expense.

Horrible stay for a family of four

The hotel is under construction and that was not advertised with their room description or reservation details. Their idea of a family room is awful! No room to walk anywhere. The towels were cheap and old. The toilet wall had flat paint and kept every stain on it. The shower so tiny. There was mildew in the corners of the bathroom, dingy lighting and the water temperature control knob was so hard to turn, we called reception to come up but when nobody came, we figured it out for ourselves. No ports near the bed to charge your devices so you have to stumble your way to your phone when your alarm goes off. For over £300/night - I would never stay here again.

We are currently undergoing through extensive renovations in our property which soon should include our bedrooms - our family rooms are in average 25sq metres, with a double bed and sofa bed suitable for 2 children up to the age of 16y and Suites with double the space of a family room with an average space of 50sq and equally suitable for a family of four. My apologies again and I hope that when the time is right, you will consider giving us the opportunity to welcoming you again in a future visit to London.
