During the roadshow, Kalimat Foundation showcases “Pledge a Library” initiative merchandise, launched in collaboration with Emirati artist Mohamed Al Mansoori. All proceeds go towards providing books for refugee children. 📍 Our first stop was at the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, where visitors shared messages of love and support for Arab refugee children through the “Happiness Mail” 💌

The Kalimat Foundation also has a section at the stand displaying "Stitching Hope for Gaza" campaign merchandise. Just one month after Kalimat Group entered an agreement with Majid Al Futtaim and National Paints Group to launch a #reading initiative for #children across #Sharjah and #Dubai, the first kiosk is ready! Inaugurating and visiting the site at the City Centre Al Zahia mall, I can say not only does it look fantastic, with space for the Kalimat Foundation as well, but in this unmissable central position it can’t fail to attract lots of young people this summer. In the coming days, we’ll roll out more of these kiosks at other malls, where we’ll host #book signings, #educational workshops, and competitions, all with the aim of firing up children’s love of reading. في اليوم العالمي للوالدين، نحتفل بأولياء أمور الأطفال ذوي التحديات البصرية الرائعين، ومنهم السيدة ميمونة والدة الطفلة هبة إحدى المستفيدات من مبادرة مؤسسة كلمات "أرى"، والتي أعربت عن سعادتها بمشاركة ابنتها في برنامج "بأصواتهم نرى" الذي ساهم في إعطائها فرصة للظهور وتمكينها وإثبات مهاراتها وشخصيتها. On Global Parents Day, we celebrate the wonderful parents of children with visual challenges, including Mrs. Maimouna, the mother of Hiba, one of the beneficiaries of the Kalimat Foundation's "Ara" initiative. She shared her joy seeing her daughter shine through the "Seeing Through Their Voices" program, which has empowered her and showcased her skills and personality.

The founding principle behind the Kalimat Foundation (KF) is that every #child deserves access to #literature and #learning, so it was very gratifying to donate #books for this purpose to #Thessaloniki Central Library. KF has been prominent in #Sharjah’s Guest of Honour program during Thessaloniki International Book Fair and donating a compact #library of 100 #Arabic books to Thessaloniki Central Library was a natural extension of the #friendship and #solidarity between Sharjah and #Greece. Our ‘Pledge a Library’ initiative has made a difference to more than 16,700 disadvantaged #children in 24 countries, in many cases through collaboration with like-minded bodies, such as Thessaloniki Central Library. They help us achieve our goal of giving underprivileged children access to #knowledge and to give them hope, but more importantly, the knowledge and #understanding to find their way to a better future. It also gave me enormous pleasure to read excerpts from my book – ‘World Book Capital’ to the children at the library. The book has been a true passion project for me and celebrates the culture of #reading for young #readers while highlighting the International World Book Capital initiative – a movement that is very close to my heart. Seeing so many young faces enjoying my book was a truly memorable experience that I will cherish.

The Kalimat Foundation has been prominent in #Sharjah’s Guest of Honour program during #Thessaloniki International Book Fair and donating 100 #Arabic #books to Thessaloniki Central #Library was a natural extension of the friendship between Sharjah and #Greece. I was so pleased to read excerpts from my book ‘World Book Capital’ at Thessaloniki Central Library. Promoting the #culture of #reading to all #children is so important – but using books to show children the world and its many diverse cultures is magical! 💫
