Hear from Editor Lucy Bradnock about the vision for the journal:

Society connection

As the official journal of the Association for Art History, authors are part of the highest standards of excellence and academic rigour underpin all of the association's work. Authors are in good hands with the society's mission to keep a watchful eye over issues, legislation and social, cultural and pedagogical trends that effect the art history subject.

Benefit not just from the Association for Art History's flagship journal, but the annual conference or programmes for professionals, those in secondary and primary education, and the interested public.

In 2024, the Association for Art History celebrates 50 years and Art History celebrates 47 years.

Editorial board

The journal has an experienced, geographically diverse editorial board, who supports the international reach of your work.

Within the UK, the Association for Art History leads the collective effort in the UK to advance the study and practice of art history. Additionally, the international editorial board component of the journal's board aims to draw research and authors worldwide for a broad and varied author base.

The Editors take great pride in providing an efficient and high-quality review process to Art History authors. Where articles are sent out for full review, authors receive careful reports and feedback.
