This Week in History: LeBron and 'The Decision'

July 8, 2010 -- LeBron James makes the decision to leave the Cavaliers and join the Heat. With the decision, James transformed the NBA landscape and ushered in a new era of players teaming up via free agency. James joined Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami and would go on to reach the NBA Finals in four straight seasons from 2010-14. After falling to the Mavericks in the 2011 NBA Finals, the Heat won back-to-back titles in 2012 and 2013. LeBron would return to Cleveland in the summer of 2014; the Cavs won their first NBA championship in 2016.
