It is becoming increasingly clear "just how popular" the Pirates' young pitchers have become, as there has been a massive increase in merchandise sales around Ps Paul Skenes and Jared Jones in recent months, according to Hudson Warm of the PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE. The other day, Skenes’ girlfriend and former LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne posted a photo on Snapchat sporting a “Skenes/Jones ’24” t-shirt, a post that on its own “boosted sales of the shirt by 1,400%.” The front of the shirt features the names of Skenes and Jones “printed in gold and stacked between thin lines beside a white ‘24’, imitating a presidential campaign logo.” At Pittsburgh merchandise store Yinzers in the Burgh, Skenes’ name “echoes across rows of apparel.” The store has seen a “30% bump in Pirates gear sales due to the enthusiasm the pitchers are generating.” Abby Larotonda works at Rally House, a sports gear chain, on the North Shore, and said that Skenes’ apparel “has been flying off the shelves.” Larotonda said the jerseys are the “hardest to keep in stock.” At OGH Sports, the young Pirate’s apparel “is selling fast.” PGH Sports’ JJ Lee said that the store stocked jerseys around a week and a half ago, and “they are already out of most sizes” (
