Osaka, Kostyuk sport eye-catching looks at Wimbledon

During Naomi Osaka's first match at Wimbledon yesterday, "all eyes were on” her latest custom Nike kit -- a “set of eye-catching separates and multiple layers of ruffles,” according to Stephanie Livaudais of TENNIS. Livaudais noted Osaka -- who is seeking her first Wimbledon title -- wore an outfit which featured a “cropped racerback tank top with a gauze-like ruffle layer starting from her right shoulder and curving around her torso,” along with a “flowy skirt made of the same material that was mesmerizing to watch in action.” The “all-white colorway” was “highlighted by small pops of forest green -- perfectly matching her white and green Nike x NO shoes, as well as her signature Tag Heuer Aquaracer.” Osaka “completed the look” with an “understated set of Louis Vuitton earrings and pendant necklace." Livaudais noted fans online “seemed to be left divided” about whether the outfit was a hit or miss (TENNIS, 7/1).

HERE COMES THE BRIDE: VOGUE's Corey Seymour wrote when Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk walked out onto Wimbledon grass for her opening-round match against Rebecca Šramková, she did so wearing a “sleeveless, deep-V-neck, largely open-backed” Wilson tennis dress. What is “immediately apparent” is that the dress -- which is “also one of the most technical tennis dresses ever made” -- is “almost an exact copy of her wedding dress.” Kostyuk, “We were just talking about the wedding, and the dress -- all of us: my agent and my team and some friends and some people from Wilson -- and we were like, ‘Why not be the first brand in tennis to make a wedding dress?’” (VOGUE, 7/1).
