The Univ. of Wisconsin’s 10-year deal with Under Armour entered its ninth year yesterday, and the sides in the near future “will have to decide whether to continue working together or part and let Wisconsin seek a new apparel partner,” according to Todd Milewski of the WISCONSIN STATE JOURNAL. Wisconsin's contract gives Under Armour the “exclusive right to negotiate an extension” through June 30, 2025. If a new deal is not in place by then, the company “has a 30-day right to match any offer Wisconsin gets from another company” between July 1, 2025, and the end of the contract June 30, 2026. Wisconsin AD Chris McIntosh said he thinks Under Armour “has been a great partner.” He added, “2016 is a lifetime ago. But they have done a good job of evolving with us during these times.” Milewski noted the value of Wisconsin’s next apparel deal will “give some insight on the school's place in the expanded Big Ten Conference.” Milewski noted eight of the Big Ten's existing 14 schools are aligned with Nike, three have agreements with Under Armour and three are with Adidas. Many of the deals are “up for renewal in the near future,” so Wisconsin “isn't the only school looking ahead” (
