NASCAR EVP & CRO DARYL WOLFE will retire at the end of this season. This year, Wolfe reached 30 years of service to the FRANCE family companies after he first joined International Speedway Corp. in 1995. SBJ has learned that Wolfe sent a memo to colleagues this week alerting that he will step down after 2024 before moving into a consulting role for NASCAR. It was unclear whether Wolfe’s role will be directly replaced (Adam Stern, SBJ).

Tulane named Northern Iowa Deputy AD/Internal Operations JUSTIN SCHEMMEL Deputy AD & COO. Schemmel will serve as the Green Wave’s sport administrator for football, baseball, track and field and cross country and sailing, while also overseeing the department's facilities, events and capital projects (Tulane).

Penn Entertainment formally named AARON LABERGE Chief Technology Officer. LaBerge, who was a nominee for Technology Executive of the Year at this year's Sports Business Awards: Tech, will report directly to Penn CEO & President JAY SNOWDEN (SBJ).

Homestead-Miami Speedway named IMG VP/Latin America, Mexico and U.S. Hispanic GUILLERMO SANTA CRUZ President. Santa Cruz spent more than 10 years at IMG, where he also represented and negotiated media rights for several sports properties including MLS, Concacaf World Qualifiers, WWE and Roland Garros (Homestead-Miami Speedway).

The MLBPA named former MLBer ANDREW MILLER Special Assistant for Strategic Initiatives. Miller “served on the union’s eight-man executive subcommittee during negotiations to restart the sport during the 2020 pandemic and during labor bargaining in 2021-22” (AP, 7/1).

USA Pickleball named CHRIS ZUKAS VP/Membership Development & Services. Prodigy Search worked with USA Pickleball to place Zukas in the role (Prodigy Search).
