The three-game Tennessee-Texas A&M matchup marked the second-best College World Series final on record, behind only LSU-Florida last year.
The three games across ABC, ESPN and ESPNU this year averaged 2.82 million viewers, just 2% below the record-setting three games for the Tigers and Gators last year. Among the three games in 2024, two now rank among the four most-watch college baseball games ever across ESPN platforms. That includes 2.92 million on ABC/ESPNU for Game 2, which is the best Game 2 audience for a CWS final on record.
ESPNU had ump cam alt-casts for each of the three games in the final. The alt-cast for Game 2 was the best of the three with 263,000 on ESPNU. For a comparison, that’s just below what the “Bird & Taurasi” alt-cast drew on ESPN2 around the South Carolina-N.C. State NCAA Women’s Basketball semifinal back on April 5 (294,000).
The 15 games across the complete men’s CWS averaged 1.6 million viewers across ESPN platforms, also the second-best figure on record, behind only the 1.65 million for 16 games last year.
