Jags could play "up to three" games in London as part of stadium deal

The Jaguars could be given "the option of playing up to three of the team's homes games in London during the 2027 season” while Everbank Stadium is being renovated, according to David Bauerlein of the FLORIDA TIMES-UNION. The legislation that would allow that will be voted on by the Jacksonville City Council next Tuesday. The team is also examining Camping World Stadium in Orlando and Univ. of Florida’s Ben Hill Griffin Stadium as sites for playing home games during the 2027 season. Jaguars President Mark Lamping mentioned Thursday during a City Council meeting devoted to examining the stadium legislation that for the 2027 season, the Jaguars “want flexibility in being able to line up stadiums outside Jacksonville because of the construction.” He added that it is “almost certain” the Jaguars “would be using the stadium in Orlando or in Gainesville, or a combination of both of them.” The proposed agreement also would give the Jaguars the "option of playing a total of up to three home games away from Jacksonville over the course of the 2025 and 2026 seasons." Bauerlein added the agreement would give the mayor the “ability to allow additional home games to be played outside Jacksonville over that two-year period for the 2025 and 2026 seasons” if the Jaguars show that is “needed based on how construction is progressing” (FLORIDA TIMES-UNION, 6/20).
