Hometown support

St. Louis Cardinals (since 1953): The brewer owned the team from 1953 until 1995 and is a major sponsor of the club and Ballpark Village, the mixed-use development adjacent to Busch Stadium. The ballpark opened in 2006 and the development followed in phases, beginning in 2014.

St. Louis Blues (2018): Following their first Stanley Cup in club history, Bud Light launched a special Gloria Brew to lean into the song the team rallied behind during its run to the Cup.

St. Louis City SC (since 2019): Founding partner of the city’s newest team that began play in MLS last year.

For a company that has been one of the biggest marketers in sports for nearly a century, Anheuser-Busch has invested heavily in its hometown teams over the past six years. The brewer last December extended its longtime Busch Stadium naming rights through 2030 and bolstered its Cardinals relationship by branding the ballpark’s new all-inclusive seating area, the Budweiser 703 Club. The brand has created the Anheuser-Busch Biergarten and the Bud Light Sports Pub at the Blues’ Enterprise Center. The 14,000-square-foot Ultra Club, the largest indoor space at CityPark, has sold out every St. Louis City game.

Additionally, after Bud Light’s recent return as the UFC’s official beer, the league brought Fight Night to St. Louis in May for only the second time. It was the most attended (15,960) and richest gate ($2.47 million) for Fight Night, said Matt Davis, head of U.S. sports marketing for Anheuser-Busch InBev.
