Leading Observability for a Better World

We're all about building something amazing. That doesn’t stop at setting up engineers to build amazing software. It means inspiring and enabling every Relic to ignite positive change where we live, work, and play—alongside a continued commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility. We're on a mission to democratize access to observability with our products and drive social and cultural change through our technology. Our values drive us to tackle the challenges facing our industry with transparency, integrity, and purpose to build a better world today and for future generations.

New Relic conducted a materiality assessment to identify the ESG priorities most relevant to our stakeholders and business. Partnering with external sustainability experts, we gathered the perspectives of key internal and external stakeholders. We paired these insights with comprehensive research and landscape analysis to inform our ESG strategy and identify these material topics:

Our Relics

Through systemic organizational change we're building a place of belonging that empowers our employees to do their best work and support their communities through volunteering and giving. Relics love their Mondays, and our teams reflect the full complement of diversity we see in our customers and partners.

Fair and Competitive Pay

New Relic prioritizes fair and competitive pay for its employees and devotes significant resources to ensuring we meet those goals. We review current wages against the local market 1-2 times annually. Additionally, we analyze pay data and address compensation inequities on an annual basis to assess whether similarly experienced Relics are compensated fairly and equitably for performing the same or similar jobs. Pay equity analysis is accomplished using the Syndio Pay Equity (PayEQ) analysis tool and resulting adjustments are made as needed to ensure we maintain equitable pay. Finally, although all New Relic employees are currently paid significantly above the local living wage standard, we conduct annual reviews to ensure that everyone is paid competitively (and in excess of the applicable living wage rate) during our annual focal merit cycle.

Data Security and Trust

Our customers trust us with their data so we can deliver broad observability. New Relic takes this responsibility seriously, continuously strengthening our security capabilities and ensuring customers have control over their data. We respond quickly to ever-evolving regulatory changes.

Here’s what we’ve been up to:

Energy and Climate

In FY24, we achieved 100% renewable energy use in our offices and offset 100% of our Scope 3 employee work-from-home electricity consumption through the purchase of Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs). We also offset 100% of our Scope 1 emissions through the purchase of carbon-removal credits.

Inspiring the Next Generation of Technologists

Eligible students receive 500 GB of data ingest and up to three full platform users. In FY24, we continued to grow this program, closing out the year with more than 1,400 student users.

Strengthening Our Security

In FY24, we adopted the CIS 18 Controls Framework. Adhering to this framework allows us to better measure the maturity of our security, prioritize improvements, and proactively mitigate emerging threats.
