Like another quasi-criminal organisation closer to home, the Hells Angels “haven’t gone away, you know”.

Over the decades the oxymoronic bikers have induced emotions ranging from terror to parody. But in recent years the fear has receded and the famed biker gang has come to be regarded as a throwback to the distant past.
