It is every parent’s hope that their child will be charged with excitement for each new school day, but an electronics engineer in Botswana has taken the challenge a bit more literally.

Kedumetse Liphi has developed a schoolbag that is also a portable solar panel connected to a powerful light and a charging portal for a laptop or smartphone.
