Private jets and 100,000-seater stadiums are a long way from her early years back in Ballincollig, but after three years living the American dream, in February it was time to return home for Éabha O’Mahony.

The Ireland international left Cork soon after her Leaving Cert to spend two seasons at Boston College before transferring to the University of Texas in December 2022. But this year, the 22-year-old opted to come back home, signing for Shelbourne who she has helped to the top of the Women’s Premier Division table, while she completes the final year of her psychology degree online from Dublin.
