The blockbuster FAI Cup clash between Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers will take place on Friday July 19, with fixture details for the second round confirmed this afternoon.

Stephen Bradley's Hoops will go to Dalymount Park to begin their FAI Cup campaign with the Dublin derby coming three days after their Champions League first qualifying round second leg tie against Vikingur Reykjavik at Tallaght Stadium.

The Hoops are targeting a first cup triumph since 2019 this year, while Bohs will be hoping to end their 16-year wait for the trophy having suffered defeats in two of the last three deciders to St Patrick's Athletic.

Elsewhere in the second round, the Louth derby tie between Drogheda and 12-time winners Dundalk is also set for Friday July 19.

The other three League of Ireland clubs competing in Europe this summer will begin their FAI Cup campaigns on Sunday July 21.

Damien Duff's Shelbourne, who reached the 2022 final, travel to Bray Wanderers three days after their Conference League first qualifying round second leg tie away to Gibraltar's St Joseph's.

Defending champions St Patrick's Athletic travel to take on 2022 winners Derry City at the Brandywell, a fixture which will see Saints boss Stephen Kenny return to the club where he won the 2006 FAI Cup.

Ruaidhrí Higgin's Derry begin their Cup run three days after their home Conference League first qualifying round second leg tie against Gibraltar's Bruno's Magpies.

As last year's Cup winners, St Pat's will enter Conference League qualifying in the second round as they take on Licthenstein outfit FC Vaduz six days after the Cup clash with the Candystripes.
