Damien Duff believes that Shelbourne's new signing Ali Coote will fit right in at Tolka Park as he was unveiled as their first signing in the summer transfer window.

As revealed by the Irish Independent on Sunday, Coote moves to Shels after a brief spell in the USA, having lined out for Detroit City since his exit from Bohemians.

He previously played in the League of Ireland for Waterford and now hooks up with fellow ex-Bohs men Liam Burt and John O'Sullivan.

Shels are in the market for more signings to beef up a squad hit by the sale of key man Gavin Molloy to Aberdeen and manager Duff expects more players to follow Scottish native Coote.

“As promised, we have moved on very quickly and will continue to do more business,” Duff said.

“He’s a wonderful signing and a very dangerous player in the league with a lot of X-factor.

“Ireland is his home from home and he belongs here. He is a player that will excite the fans and influence our games.

“And most importantly, he will buy into our culture, as it is what we are built on.”

Shels have also added former Shamrock Rovers, Waterford, St Pat’s and Dundalk defender Sam Bone to their squad for the remainder of the season.
