Keen to put their latest Champions Cup final defeat behind them as quickly as possible, Leinster are hoping to welcome back co-captain Garry Ringrose for Friday night's URC interpro clash with Connacht at the RDS.

Ringrose hasn't played for Leinster since January due to an ongoing shoulder injury, but he took part in the captain's run at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last Friday, which suggests he is nearing his long-awaited comeback.

Leinster said today that Ringrose will increase his training load again this week, as he looks to feature against Connacht.

Winger Tommy O’Brien will return to training from a hamstring injury and will also be further assessed before a decision is made on his involvement.

Kiwi centre Charlie Ngatai is in a similar boat, as he works his way back from a shoulder problem.

Jason Jenkins, who will return home to South Africa at the end of the season, may have played his last game for Leinster after the lock picked up a knee injury in last weekend's defeat to Toulouse.

Liam Turner (arm), Lee Barron (shoulder) and Alex Soroka (foot) remain sidelined.
