Mona McSharry claims another fifth place in 200m breaststroke final at World Aquatics championships

Mona McSharry has finished fifth in the 200m breaststroke final at the World Aquatic championships in Doha – her second fifth place at the championships having done likewise in her specialist event the 100m breaststroke on Tuesday.

She missed out on qualifying for the Olympic 200m breaststroke posting a time of 2:24.89 which though faster than her semi-final time of 2:25.13 was marginally slower than her heat winning time of 2:24.91 and outside the Olympic standard of 2:23.91.
