Grant Hackett, a three-time Olympic champion and a seven-time medallist was arguably the greatest ever distance swimmer. He is Daniel Wiffen’s role model.
“I always looked on him as the pinnacle of what I wanted to become,’’ says the 22-year-old, who smashed the oldest world record in swimming held by the Australian since 2008 when winning the 800m at the European short course championships last month.
