Neasa Russell spent a couple of days in Paris early last month, checking out the Olympic Village and related facilities for the Irish Paralympians who will make this place their home after the world’s Olympians have returned to all four corners of the earth.

The XXXIII Olympiad will hold its closing ceremony on Sunday, August 11. The summer Paralympic Games will then run from August 28 to September 8. Some 30 Irish competitors will join the estimated 4,400 athletes who will gather for this great global showpiece of the able disabled.
