Sometimes it’s millimetres, the hundredths of a second, or even grammes that define an Olympics for competitors.

For Dublin sailors Robert Dickson and Seán Waddilove at the Tokyo Games three years ago, it was the weight of a trapeze harness – worn by sailors to support them – that ultimately decided their outcome. They got a two-race disqualification because their harness was overweight by 90 grammes, around the same weight as an average tomato.
