The Throw-In: Kerry and Dublin slip up, Galway’s troubles and the return of Jim McGuinness

Monaghan continued their stellar league record against Dublin.

The National Football League has returned and so has The Throw-In with Will Slattery joined by Dick Clerkin and Colm Keys for the first show of the year.

With Kerry and Dublin losing at home to Derry and Monaghan respectively, there was plenty for them to look back on, not least for Dick anyway.

Monaghan’s appetite and work rate in winning against the Dubs in Croke Park stood out in particular.

Meanwhile, Mickey Harte came back to haunt Kerry as his Derry side were impressive one-point victors in the Kingdom.

Elsewhere, Mayo’s eight-point win over Galway has highlighted early season problems for Padraig Joyce’s Galway and Jim McGuinness’ return to Donegal saw them record a comfortable eleven-point victory over Cork.
