Sinéad Goldrick is one of the few defenders who forces teams to change their game plan. Over the last decade she has revolutionised the half-back position by putting teams on the back foot with her direct running, athleticism and combative style of play.

I played my last Dublin county final with Na Fianna in 2014. We were huge underdogs going into the game against a young Foxrock Cabinteely who had cruised to the final — and deservedly beaten us in the 2012 decider. In comparison we had ground out results, including a last-minute winner against St Brigid’s in the semi-final.
