What it meant to the Dublin footballers to win last year’s All-Ireland title was evident in their pronouncements after the win over Kerry when collective guards dropped.

They had won six-in-a-row up to 2020, lost their way ever so slightly for the next two years by losing successive All-Ireland semi-finals narrowly but recovered that lost ground last summer.
