Amy O’Connor’s first-half goal proved crucial as Cork avenged last year’s quarter-final defeat to Waterford with this Munster final triumph over the Déise at Thurles.
Waterford had opened the scoring in the second minute when Beth Carton pointed from a free and Niamh Rockett added a second to increase their lead before O’Connor got Cork off the mark from a free after seven minutes.
