Man (50s) in court accused of assaulting and attempting to suffocate his partner’s mum in nursing home

A father of two charged with attempting to suffocate his partner’s elderly mother in a midlands nursing home has been granted bail after a court heard how he allegedly stood over her, shouting: “Die bitch, die, die, you f****** bitch.”
Fifty-five-year-old Peter Keaney, of 7 Hillside Close, Monksland, Athlone, Roscommon was admitted to bail after being sent forward to Mullingar Circuit Court on a signed guilty plea of assault causing harm to the elderly woman and of attempting to suffocate her with a pillow.
