Sinead Ryan: Forget summer style – I’m going to dress how I like on my holiday

Holidays are supposed to be a time to de-stress, so who cares what others think of the way you look? Photo: Getty

I shop for clothes like a bloke. As little as possible, maximising every tortured visit by buying multiples of anything I need because it saves time. Nobody would ever accuse me of being a fashionista, but I’m not likely to contribute to the fast-fashion trash mountain either.

Nothing makes my heart sink faster than having to buy a new outfit for a dressy event. I bought my own wedding dress in the first shop I went into, despite my sisters planning an entire day around it. I was delighted, while they were left bereft of an outing. I rent posh dresses, rather than sweat over the cost and dry cleaning bills.
