The political systems differ drastically, but there are still plenty of lessons to learn from the UK general election with our own trip to the polls coming down the track. Nobody here is shedding tears at the savaging of the Tories, but Keir Starmer’s tactics are well worth scrutiny.

He lacks the showbiz smarm of Tony Blair, but Keir Starmer understood that what the UK voters wanted was competence, credibility and clarity.
