Before we head off on holiday this year, we’ll do the usual checklist: Passports? Tickets? Wallet? But the fourth query might just be the most crucial: All devices charged and packed?

More important even than my husband’s phone (home to all travel arrangements) will be my phone with its downloads of Thomas and Friends episodes and Peekaboo Barn, our six-year-old’s tablet and our 10-year-old’s tablet, Switch and phone (an old one of mine) that he uses for games and watching Ninjago.
