An uneasy, temporary calm has settled on Aer Lingus in recent days as both sides in the intractable pilots pay dispute await a proposal from the Labour Court.

Those close to the process had ­expected the court’s vital recommendation for solving the dispute would have been delivered by close of business on Friday.
