Here is our pick of the best independent bakeries in Ireland:

People who live in the vicinity of Russell Street have had to invest in stretchy pants since the bakery opened a little over a year ago. Both sweet and savoury games are strong; the pistachio roll went viral. As well as covering all the essential sourdough bases — the bakery uses Wildfarmed flour — there is excellent focaccia, and people travel from far and wide for the chicken Caesar roll. The Russell Street Bakery has vegan options and outdoor seating, is dog-friendly, and open seven days a week. Oh, and it serves great coffee. Is this the perfect bakery? Quite possibly so. @russellst.bakery
