After learning how red hair could go extinct over time, a former National Geographic photographer began shooting a series of striking portraits of natural redheads.

The project by New York photographer Keith Barraclough and his wife Kate Lorenz has resulted in 500 portraits of people of all ages and sizes with hair shades from strawberry blonde and coppery cinnamon to the brightest red.
